about

Kid Pharaoh's 2nd self-produced album 'New Dynasty' is the story of a new ruler rising up and taking reign of his own era, which sees him taking towards and displaying his Egyptian roots and embracing his rich Ancient history throughout the project, from channeling Arabic samples, portraying stories of his ancestors and the use of Arabic in the track-listing, all while mixing in a fusion of soul, funk & jazz influences within the project.

Track Name: Coronation
(Intro)

Egypt, 50 centuries ago
When her culture and civilisation flourished in a setting of unequal pump and grandeur
When her proud legions had conquered all the world and plundered it’s treasure
To feed the insatiable ambitions of the greatest of all Pharaohs

(Hook)
From the ground he rose
To reclaim a kingdom that for years he owned
Many come many go, one thing they know
That only one can rule, the one they call Pharaoh

(Verse)

Microphone check we breakin’ necks up in your section
Turnin’ heads in our direction, man keep thinking we pretendin’
I’m back like I never left, oh wait I never did
Even after they wrap me up, this rap forever lives
The fakeness multiplying so I gotta mummify ‘em
Fake rulers all complying to the rules the powers tryin’
Sittin’ and wishin’ man as the clock was steady tickin’
While it's tickin & tockin man I'm just sittin and plottin
Just perfecting my craft, see man the young dude he rhymin’
Until he leads a Dynasty just like a young Tutankhamen
Uh, my reign without a doubt man they will try diminish
In my past life, probably writin’ rhymes in hieroglyphics
Now we in the afterlife, bury me with my discography
Put a mic in my palm and shelter me from the hypocrisy
My sound, won't dumb it down like these clowns in the public now
I keep it womb to the tomb, that's why it's underground

(Hook)

(Outro)

Many kings have come and gone
Many Dynasty’s rose up and shone
Now a new light shall come and shine
A New Dynasty’s reign arrives
Track Name: Sphinx God
(Intro)

Out of the mists of time
Out of the eternal sands
Out of the living rock
Out of the soul and sinew of thousands upon thousands of men
It rises from the deserts floor, as the mightiest monument ever erected to the glory of one man

(Verse)

Give me a reason, I switch it up like the seasons
Not tryna predict the weather, man I’m just tryna break even
Fuck it, I’m tryna profit, don’t wanna see any losses
Only loss I’m tryna boss is the day that I’m in my coffin
These rappers say they flossin’, they lyin’ straight to me
Only thing you flossin’ is leftovers out your fuckin’ teeth
Fake stuntin’ publicly, you ain’t stuntin’ you ain’t G
Don’t test KP, if you tryna test me
See my name says it all dude my bars are so much meaner
than that shit that you been spittin’
But it fits you fake one, so I guess that people see you as some G with his clips and the chicks and the chains
You got some sick gats, on your mufuckin’ XBox
Got some sick whips, on your mufuckin’ desktop
Basic like pH, don’t need no A&R just stay afar, shit
AO, flow stay cold, now end that shit with an H yo it’s

(Hook x2)
Pharaoh, man I spit it how I live it
Scratch that, man I got some new shit for you to hear it’s
Sphinx God, yes that’s how you will address me
Sphinx God, man I wish these rappers would test me

(Scratch bridge)

(Hook x2)

(Outro)
You have now just witnessed, the Sphinx God
Keep your eyes and ears opened
Because the New Dynasty is upon us
Track Name: No More (feat. MITCHELL)
(Intro)

From every corner of the land came teaming multitudes of workers
And then slaves and generations of slaves
To rest the rock from the unyielding Earth
While army’s of humanity suffered and died to haul their colossal burden across the desert to the river Nile
For the final journey to the mighty ramps that flanked the Pyramids

(Verse 1)

I’m tired of it, I can’t stand it no more
The contradictions of the system, I’ve seen it all before
Hypocrites, this ain’t a diss, it’s a wake up call
‘Cause this shit is a maze that you need to be awake for
Preacher tryna preach money's the root of all evil
Yet on Sunday collection plate bein' passed throughout the people
Teacher tryna teach me these lessons of education
How the hell I’m 'posed to use this in a future occupation?
Police sayin' they breachin' the presence of current crime
I'm seeing those in uniform commit too many times
Our leaders throwing promises, promises so profound
Every time that hope is broken, man it's shattered on the ground
I looked up, questioned the presence of this deception
Heard a voice ring through my mind that said it’s all about perception
I struggled to accept it then I, questioned who said it
Then I realised there was no one standing in my presence, who said it?

(Kid Pharaoh - Hook x2)
They tryna take what’s mine, but nah won’t let ‘em
They tryna take my shine, but nah won’t let ‘em
They tryna kill my grind, but nah won’t let ‘em
Won’t let ‘em play me no more

(MITCHELL - Hook)
They tried to take my, shine away, but I won’t let them, no more
They tried to take my, grind away, but I won’t let them, no more

(Verse 2)

Framed by the law, these pigs tellin' they twisted tales
Killin' all my people, men, women and kids as well
Run 'em down with tanks, open fire in the street
Tryna take 'em out for real, tryna knock em off they feet
When my people out in Egypt in the streets regaining freedom
Being peaceful, yet these lives are taken and they're tryna flee
Who they supposed to run to, authorities right?
Too bad that the authorities the ones takin' lives
Ain't nobody safe, Muslim or a Christian even kids
Be gettin' laid out, they spray rounds, no such thing as safe grounds
No playgrounds, don't play now
It ain't safe now, come back in the house and pray now
That God’ll keep us safe throughout the day now
Shit, how do we protect the children and the wives
When the fathers and husbands, they conscripted to fight
Damn, this fucking government, you may as well have no law
Coz the people they cant take this shit no more

(Kid Pharaoh - Hook x2)
They tryna take what’s mine, but nah won’t let ‘em
They tryna take my shine, but nah won’t let ‘em
They tryna kill my grind, but nah won’t let ‘em
Won’t let ‘em play me no more

(MITCHELL - Hook)
They tried to take my, shine away, but I won’t let them, no more
They tried to take my, grind away, but I won’t let them, no more

(Outro)

They tryna take what’s mine, but nah won’t let ‘em
(But I won’t let them)
They tryna take my shine, but nah won’t let ‘em
(No more)
They tryna kill my grind, but nah won’t let ‘em
(But I won’t let them, no more)
Won’t let ‘em play me no more
Track Name: Let My People Go
(Hook)

See when I capture these rappers
I got ‘em all crackin’ like
(Pharaoh Pharaoh let my people go)
I’m like a lyrical assassin
My passion too active like
(Pharaoh Pharaoh let my people go)
Now everybody on the floor, if you holla at the boy sayin’
(Pharaoh Pharaoh let my people go)
Then I’ll load the microphone and I’ll pop you like Capone, you say
(Pharaoh Pharaoh let my people go)

(Look, alright alright I’ll let ‘em go, sike)

(Verse 1)

Now all you rappers put your hands up in the air
Drop your mic and drop your paper ‘cause nobody really cares
Take that chain off, you ain’t famous, dude just drop it over there
Man don't say a single word, you won’t get hurt, I’ll make it clear
This a stick up, get your shit up, put your hands up on your head
Empty those pockets, I see a single demo tape you dead
This the 3rd studio I raided today, and I’m sick of games
So listen what I say, and we’ll get outta here, okay?
Gimme your phone so I can crash it, smash it, splat it on the ground
If I see another tweet about your come up, you out
It’s your year? It’s your time? Man you always on your grind?
Your last single dropped 2 years ago don’t waste my damn time
Lead single like my throwaway
Your album like my oldest tape
Enough with all this bogus man
Stop claiming that you own the place
Look what you did, my wanted poster on the TV bro
And now your fans screaming let my people go

(Hook)

(Bridge - Choir)

Go down, Moses
(Pharaoh, Pharaoh let my people go)
Way down in Egypt’s land
Go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt’s land
(Let my people go)

(Hook)
Track Name: Back Home (feat. I AM D)
(Hook x 2)
You know it feels right
When I’m on the mic
‘Cause it feels like home
(I heard ‘dat, I heard ‘dat, I heard ‘dat, when I was back home)

(Verse 1 - Kid Pharaoh)

I’m back home, I’m eager as hell, open the door
I just wanna kick my J’z off on the floor
Man it’s been a long day, now I’m just tryna create
I been sittin’ at a desk for 6 hours, no pay
Tryna process information for a future occupation
That I don’t even know, shit but what I do know
Is that every free period be a beats period
And every Physics lesson be a writin’ lyrics session, ha
Back home, man and when I say home
It don’t have to have a door, a roof or windows
I’m talking ‘bout the home that you make with your mind
That’s why I’m home when I’m flippin' these samples or on the mic
Coz home is where my art is, and my art is where my heart is
That’s why every day I'm strivin’ to be a prosperin’ artist
And every day I’m working towards that throne
But until then, I’m heading back, heading back home

(Hook x 2)

(Verse 2 - I AM D)

Now I don't know if you've noticed but no I don't know no better
I read from an open book write an open letter
Dear forever my time is short lived, but
I'll echo in eternity, ya dig?
You heard of me? I AM D tell it like it is
I say whats real, real shit, real shit
Me and the fakes started on the same line
They sniffed it, I bagged it flipped it it shifted my whole frame of mind
Now I'm on the Daley grind now the empires
Building brick by brick time ticking by
You either fit right in or you stand aside
And run the flank get ahead then you cut inside
Who am I? Let her finish it
Images in my brain of other bitches while she giving it
Sinister type of shit holy water couldn't diminish it
Man, kill this shit I need to chill a bit

(Hook x 2)
Track Name: We Here
(Hook)
I’m tryna pass the time
I’m tryna flee from the shackles all up in my mind
I’m tryna live my life and not coincide
Don't wanna just exist and feel so confined
I know, they don’t want us to be here well lemme just be clear
We here to stay, so let ‘em know that we here
We’ll be alright, we’ll be o k
We here to stay, so let em know that we here

(Verse 1)

They don’t want us to stand out they want all our hands out
To ask for hand outs, and beg since a man’s down
The system got plans now, to tamper a man’s sound
So just understand how they wanna demand all of our
Thinking with manipulation, face it
Drillin’ shit up in our system all from early ages, chasin’
All our minds, all the time they want you to conform more
The schools, what you think they all wearing uniforms for
You’re just another number to them, just a statistic
A simplistic set of digits just to enter to their system
In this shit that we in, can you picture this?
We all just new personifications of Winston Smith
And Big Brother wanna cover the lies that we despise
We institutionalised with institutional lies
The truth exits our eyes, and you begin to find
The true workings of life, but you you cannot hide, we here

(Hook)

(Verse 2)

They don't want us to be here
So lemme just be clear
The future that we fear
Could really just be near
Attack of the clones, the people don't wanna know
How to make it all grow
Coz that means being alone
I see a flock of wannabes up in the building
And an individual is like a one up in a million
He does it how he does it not what the trends seein'
Count all of these numbers and the millionth you will see him
Rather leave with some dignity than a dick in me
From a label fuckin’ me publicly thinkin’ I’m a puppet see
Message in the records so you know it can be
Separated from the way of so called MC's
Maybe that's why my emails dry
Coz I'm not making club tracks for the females right?
I ain’t no opening act bitch I’m the dopest in fact
You keep closing the doors, I’ll kick it open it we back, we here

(Hook)
Track Name: التاريخ القديم (Interlude)
(Hook)
We pay dues to the forefathers
Kings come and gone that laid the core harvest
Planted the seed for us to be
The new kings to the lead this New Dynasty

(Verse)
And that’s the family tree
For generations always making what the family needs
So much history diggin’ deep inside my veins
Flowing through the very blood that my body has attained
It’s not just a name, all this legacy became
Reincarnated me and the Pharaoh we the same
Egyptian scripture that depicts the picture
Of the heritage of all my brethren and my sisters
Uh, and I’m here tell the story
Of my ancestors and my family that came before me
I walk in the footsteps of the same ones
That ruled the Ancient World led us all from day one
The intelligence of my heaven sent brethren is better than
Any history lesson I’ll address and just tell em the
Egyptians Kings & Queens passed to me
The strength to rule my very own Dynasty

(Hook)

(Outro acapella)
As we continue on our journey deep inside the tombs
We face the obstacles the world around us tries to use
Creating separation in the ongoing formation of a Dynasty that has been generations in the making
Track Name: Real World
(Intro - Kanye West) x2
This the real world, homie school’s finished
They done stole your dreams, you don’t know who did it

(Hook x2)
Said I don’t know what imma do up in this twisted world
They say that life’s a bitch, well tell that bitch it hurts
Tell her I’m tired of games, tired of feelin’ the same
Imma break out of this box and imma steal this game

(Verse 1)

Man it’s a normal kinda day I’m just chillin along the way
I’m walkin’ down this same street, same shit different day
Fantasising, day dreamin’ 'cause I know my time is coming
All these thoughts up in my brain, my mind is crazy buzzin’
My mind up in the clouds, J’z graze across the pavement
Had to cop a pad of paper from the local petrol station
The same one that’s adjacent to the school I graduated
Like 20 minutes ago and now my brain is fascinated
All my thoughts are activated, I’ve been stuck in education
For the last 12 years, apparently it’s preparation
For the life that will proceed for me or will I see
That every one of these degrees ain’t just like what they make it seem
Should I walk the same route and do whatever they want
Get a degree then sit up at a desk workin’ a day job
But I’m fuckin bored of studies screamin fuck the board of studies
Hope my teachers all hear of me when I’m out tourin’ the country, I don’t know

(Hook x2)

(Verse 2)
Dollar signs in my eyes
I got money on my mind
Never cared about the shine
Tryna stand the test of time
No one told me I’d be broke as a promise man but I promise man
There ain’t no stoppin’ it the Dynasty ‘bout to be prominent
Retailing’ 9-5 to keep it all alive
’s all I see up in my eyes and all I care is that I try
I don’t dwell upon possessions of the one standing beside me
Only dwell upon satisfying emotions deep inside me
Only wish to be content, if my hunger never rests
Then I’m always seeking something more, I’ll probably starve to death
See me, I’ve never been infatuated with the profits
i just wanna be comfortable and not worry what the cost is
Livin’ care free man that's hard to find
Just wanna walk into a store without my card declined
That bad balance will make you unsteady peepin’ that account
So until I get it right, we’ll see what this world’s about

(Hook x4)
Track Name: Move It Out
(Hook)
You know we gots to keep it bumpin’
Gots to keep it jumpin’
And if it ain’t funky, you know we gotta move it out
Bumpin’, gots to keep it jumpin’
And if it ain’t funky, you know we gotta move it out

(Verse 1)
All that negative just move it out
I made the Real World mine, now we movin’ now
To a better tomorrow I’m never dwellin’ in sorrow
Keepin’ original my shit is too ill for you to borrow
So, you’ll never see me at a desk in a suit
Man that’s all good if that’s what’s destined for you
But I’m destined to prove, that the rest never move
In the same direction I’m headed to the new
And you, you can see Back Home we Burn It Up
Coronated now the Sphinx God really is the plug
Man I’m slanging pure drums over hand made funk
For the right price you might try to cop a quick buzz and we
Lightyears ahead of you, we do it how we meant to do
Don’t wish upon the death of groove, we only getting better dude
And for the rest of you, move it up
And for the playas on the grind, keep groovin’ bruh

(Hook)

(Verse 2)
I told you to gimme the funk a year ago
So now I’m back with a brand new rap so just sit back and here we go
Uh, you ain’t been on a ride like this punk
A producer who be spittin and controllin’ the funk
All the time, on the grind, not that come up tip
If you want the cliche’s, listen to my come up shit
I’ve told you I wanna make it, I’ve told you I’m on my grind
Forget that struggle shit, now I’m having a good time
Yes, they wonder how my bottles always catchin’ lightnin’
They ask me who's my hype man, I tell 'em it's the mic man
Uh, with my lyrics man you know what this is
These beats be knockin' like a Jehovah's Witness
Ha, you better recognise this my Dynasty
Only the realest in the game be out here tryna ride with me
So, I stay the realest til my tomb is down
Below the ground, if it ain’t funky, move it out

(Hook)
Track Name: Closer
(Hook)

(Brother thing)
To all my brothers man, to, to all my brothers man
(Sister thing)
To all my sisters man, to, to all my sisters man
(It’s gonna take love among people)
Love, you know we gotta have that love
(Oh to bring us, hey)
Bring us what bring us what?
(Closer)
Closer

(Verse 1)
I can’t turn on the TV without me seeing
The innocence of our citizens escape through ignorance
The passion of the belligerent affect the way that we dealin’ with
Immigrants that seek some healing by finding a better living
Yet the same people tellin' me to love it or leave it
Don't even own the land we stand, but they don't wanna believe it
Because they tellin' me to leave and flee right back to where I came
And leave the place that I stay, the same place that I was raised
So listen, all this hatred in the places that we from
See we can’t drive it out with hate, we gotta drive it out with love
Hate all that you want in search of sparking a reaction
Imma stand right here and smile coz I’m aware that all that matters
Is the fact that as a person I take pride up in my heritage
I break the mould, the Pharaoh’s heart of gold’s what I inherited
Shan kolo wahed fekoom zay ekhwati (كنت كل اخوتي)
So I spit that native tongue up in my raps see, you all my brother

(Hook)

(Verse 2)
Now who are you to tell me and to try expel me
From a land that's free and wealthy, man the people should be helping
Not, holding on and clenching to a culture that's defensive
Against freeing independence, you wanna see us sentenced
In the centres of detention, as centres of attention
for media to see us as animals with a vengeance
Coz we come from different places and sought a better nation to make New Dynasty’s with patience
My grandfather and my father left their places
To come and seek greatness and me to do the same thing
In the land of opportunity it’s you and me
except you take for granted all the luxuries that you perceive
And I planned it, here what they take for granted
Is a diamond in the rough in other countries on the planet
Yeah, and man I’ve seen it, see from Sydney to Egypt
I dream it, I mean it, just wanna make peace with my brothers

(Hook) x2
Track Name: Burn It Up (feat. Hau)
(Intro)
Microphone check, 1, 2, what is this? It’s that Tribe Called Quest shit so let’s get with this, get ‘em

(Hook - Q-Tip & Kid Pharaoh) x2
Listenin’ to these lyrics when it’s hot will make you burn baby burn baby burn
(Burn it up, burn it up, let’s burn this place up now)

(Verse 1 - Kid Pharaoh)

Now lemme take you back to 1991
Where the rhymes were def and the beats were straight drums
Knockin’ all up in the speakers up in the fine city
When that Low End dropped, Tribe rockin’ the Daishiki’s
Ya boy was not on Earth until 1997
I Gotta do my research up on the Golden Era
That’s why you hear the drums breakin’ shakin’ the room
And the bass funks it up all up on the same tune now
Back when Cool J was rockin’ a Kangol
And your radio to shoulder was on a right angle
Just play this shit, ain’t gotta tell them dudes that we hot
That funkadelic rhythm, pump up your Reebok’s
Now now, they call me Pharaoh, so peep the Native Tongue
Like the Sun God Ra shine with my rays of sun
When I drop the needle on ‘em, they retire
And imma keep flowing just light my fire baby

(Hook) x4

(Verse 2 - Hau)

You really wanna see the triple OG just cripple those beats
They flipped in 03 without lifting a knee
I run it 100 because I’m really from that era
The Tongan terrorist, putting bombs in lens
Blowing up the spot, I strut like, “what is up?”
N.W.A. with the way I say, “fuck the cops”
I’m Scarface, over guitar space, drums and horn sections
Now I’m chillin’ from Town Villain down to Launceston
My 45 acres, avengerous & treacherous, Naughty By Nature
Was the leader of the new school, but now I’ve left ‘em to the work force
Givin’ work experience, to these new dudes and the who’s who of rap now
I’m that now, that’s found chillin’ in the background
I’m cut from a cloth of the pioneers that’s why I’m here to my final years, I keep it burnin’

(Hook) x4

(Bridge - Kid Pharaoh & Hau)

Ay Hau should we take it back?
(Yeah man let’s take ‘em back Kid)
You ready?
(Yeah boi!)

Can I kick it?
(Yes you can)
Can I kick it?
(Yes you can)
Can I kick it?
(Yes you can)
Well I’m gone

Yes, yeah man, it ain’t about old school or new school, we still don’t play by no school rules
(Old school, new school, no school rules)
Your rule book has officially been burnt up
Track Name: End For Me
(Intro)

On the sands of the desert, you will raise a Pyramid
A structure greater than any other in the world
This Pyramid shall be my resting place
For the second life

(Hook)
This ain’t the end for me
See I’m tryna leave behind a long legacy
I’m tryna redefine my destiny now, now, now
(Let's just be real, tell 'em how you feel)
There ain’t no restin’ see
All the time the grind of life testin’ me
I’m tryna see the light that’s meant for me now, now, now
(Let's just be real, tell 'em how you feel)

(Verse 1)

If I die tomorrow, how will they remember me?
What kinda memories they gonna leave within my legacy?
Will they remember me as a kid who didn’t get to see
The fine things in life, didn’t fulfil his destiny
Please tell me if I sleep tonight and then I don’t wake again
Will they say my faith is whole-hearted or paper thin?
Will they say he always worked hard and he played to win
Or was handed it up on a silver platter, a plate of sin
My body like a vessel, just a vessel of experience
What you see and what you hear don’t make you no inferior
It’s how you comprehend and implement all your surroundings
And start treating life as this truly great, profound thing
I been thinking lately, if the Lord he takes me back to the sky
I don’t want no one to cry, I just want you to smile
If tonight I spread my wings to the skies up above
Just know, I lived this life doing just what I loved

(Hook)

(Verse 2)

If my time is up, see if my clock stop tickin’
Let it show i never did this shit for cash or for the business
See just know, when my pen was writin’ every verse I’ve written
Man you know, I was pure in every single thing I did and man this,
Life is like a gig I never got to soundcheck
If my levels treble or the bass ain’t got it down yet
I apologise, I can’t disguise all of my flaws
But just know I’ll give it all when I hit that stage floor
Did I, rehearse enough, see should I edit the arrangement?
Is this track here sounding rough, is it ready to play yet?
I dunno, this life gig it might be the death of me
See if they boo me or cheer me, won’t let it be the end of me, man
When those doors open to this gig of life
If my set’s a little bumpy, man trust me I’ll get it right
Even though I didn’t soundcheck my set please know
When those doors close I promise you would’ve enjoyed the show

(Hook) x2
